My story

I grew up and completed my initial studies in Greece before moving to the UK in 2016 to continue my professional training and development. From the beginning of my psychology studies, I was fascinated by people’s stories and by the ways our life experiences shape how we think, feel, and relate to others. Therapy offers a unique space where people can speak openly about parts of their lives that may have felt difficult to share elsewhere, and I believe it is important to meet that openness with care, respect, and genuine curiosity.

In London, I completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Neurodevelopmental Studies at King’s College London, deepening my understanding of how brain development, early experiences, and environment influence emotional wellbeing.

My core clinical training is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which remains an important part of my work. CBT provides a practical framework for understanding how difficulties can become maintained through patterns of thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical responses, and how meaningful change can begin through small, achievable steps.

As my clinical experience grew, I became increasingly aware that many present-day difficulties were also linked to earlier life experiences that had not been fully processed. Sometimes these experiences were clearly traumatic; at other times, they were less obvious but had nevertheless shaped how a person viewed themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.

This led me to specialise further in trauma-focused therapy and train in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that helps people process distressing memories that may continue to affect them in the present. Supporting clients as they gain relief from long-standing emotional burdens remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Areas I can help with

A note

Many of these difficulties overlap, and people often experience more than one at the same time. You do not need to fit neatly into any single category — therapy begins with your individual experience.

If your concerns are not listed here, you are still welcome to get in touch to discuss whether therapy might be helpful.

What People Have Said

“I had worked with various therapists over the past decade for crippling anxiety and self-esteem issues, but after working with Iliana I can honestly say I’m now in the best mental state I’ve ever been in.

Over the past two years, we built a strong rapport and level of trust that gave me the confidence to put strategies and coping skills in place – not just for the present, but for the future too. Having virtual sessions made it easy to dedicate the time regularly and provided a safe space to explore and work through important topics.

I highly recommend therapy as a journey of self-discovery, but above all, I recommend working with Iliana if you are looking for a safe, supportive, and trusting environment. Thanks to her, I’ve reached a place where I no longer define myself by a mental health label, and for that I am truly grateful.””

"I started this year with a commitment to improving my mental health, and undertaking CBT with Iliana was one of the best decisions I made. Her empathetic approach and unwavering support made a world of difference. She provided a safe space for me to explore my thoughts, work through challenges, and develop strategies to manage my emotions effectively. Iliana's guidance has been instrumental in helping me make meaningful progress and feel more in control of my mental well-being. If I ever decide to embark on another CBT journey, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Iliana in a heartbeat."
